Road Safety Talk
The children were visited by Diane from RSA Ireland this week. She informed the of the importance of understanding road safety and the safe cross code, aswell as keeping ourselves safe when we travel in our cars.
Prayer Service
Mr. Maher carried out a lovely prayer service with the students in the school to mark the end of November, the month where we remember our loved ones. The service involved reflection, prayer, and poetry. The children learned that the robin often reminds us of loved ones who have left us.
Chess Activities
Chess is a wonderful activity for these cold Winter days. The children are enjoying playing a simplified "pawn and rook" game to master using these pieces.
Robotics Workshop!
Mr. Forde and the senior pupils are busy carrying out a Robotics Workshop called Spike Prime. This initiative is funded by Medtronics and promotes pupils developing their skills in the area of STEM. This week they were building the "mission" obstacles out of lego to accompany the upcoming robotics tasks.
Rólimirt sa Ghaeilge
Mr. Forde's students were enjoying rólimirt activities in Irish this week. This week they were learning about food and enjoyed learning how to order food in a restaurant as gaeilge!
An Chealltrach Abú! (2)
We were delighted to welcome our past pupils and members of the ladies and mens' intermediate Caltra football teams to the School. The children enjoyed asking questions of the players and singing our own rendition of the song "Killeagh". A massive thank you to Rian Hennelly Ryan, Odhran Loughrey, Tommy Morrissey and Sarah Noone for taking the time to visit us. An Chealltrach Abú!
